Also, in this website http://www.rocketlanguages.com/spanish/resources/pronunciation_spanish_vowels.php you will find that Vowels in Spanish are pronounced differently from their English equivalents. The vowels a, e, and o are pronounced quite softly, while i and u are pronounced with a strong tone. In conclusion we can say that short and long vowels are so different in English than in Spanish.
